Those of us here at Sacred Earth Animal Rescue are individuals that are passionate about creating a better future for farm animals in need of shelter and care. We are committed to the wellbeing of injured, neglected, mistreated or abandoned animals. There are many that come to us simply because it has become a hardship on the owners to tend to them and they want them to go to a loving home, where their futures will be brighter.
The horse to the right is Isabeau, a Belgian mare. She was a PMU (Pregnant Mare Urine) rescue. I adopted her at the age of one. She is now 5 years old. You wouldn't know it by looking at her, but when I brought her home she was undersized for a yearling, wormy and couldn't shed her winter coat. The vet said she would always be unhealthy and she would be lucky to reach 15.5 hands. She is now 16.5 hands and as you can see, healthy as a horse.
